Unfortunately, Theodore, his then wife and mother of Theodore Jr., Imo Manning Brookey, died in their home in Martinsburg, WV in September of 1954 from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Pauline was the daughter of Theodore Vincent Brookey, a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia. At the time of Pauline's birth, Theodore Brookey was married to Anna Lormier of Allegheny County, PA. Pauline had a half-brother, Theodore Vincent Brookey, Jr., born in 1943 in Martinsburg, WV. He along with his father, Theodore, his mother, Imo Manning Brookey, died from carbon monoxide poisoning in their home in September of 1954.
