Penni Hersrud died at age 59 years old on June 6, 2013 in San Antonio, Bexar County, TX.

There was no official obituary, but this will do, I have a story about a mother, wife, aunt, friend, sister, daughter who has been there for everyone her whole life. She opened her home to homeless family and friends , raised children, nieces, nephews and grandkids into great adults that weren't even hers biologically. She never asked for a thing in return. He face would light up a room, her laughter was so contagious, to know Penni was to love her!! She made a huge difference in many lives, she was that one person you could call anytime day or night and vent your darkest moment and she would accept you and make it all ok, with even just a facial expression , more than words, she could change your bad day and turn it into a positive . Penni got diagnosed with a horrible disease in Nov 2013, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, what a huge devastation that news was to all that loves her , she fought with all her soul , her hair fell off in chunks,her beauty shined from the inside and she wasn't afraid, actually she even looked more beautiful as the disease took her hair, made her sick and weak, but she never stopped BELIEVING and had faith in Gods plan for her!! Always a smile on her face and a phone call asking how others were!! We were so excited to hear the great news her cancer was in remission on Christmas, her favorite time of the year, baking, singing, decorating and giving to all around her!! This was a time to celebrate life all over again, remission and a bone marrow transplant and a perfect match ahead!!! unfortunately, an infection came, and cancer returned, change of plans, time to fight again, to get that transplant!! Little did any of her loved ones expect her not to beat this too!!! 7 days in ICU, in pain and suffering, fighting for her life!!! This horrible disease took over, and Penni passed on Wed June 5th 2013, leaving behind a world of loved ones that don't know how to survive without her. She had 5 grand children who were her life and shared many life time moments of pure joy together, and 2 new grand babies also born recently in 2013 that when in chemo she couldn't even hold. That to Penni was worse than the disease its self!!! Having to hold back for a moment was a life time for her!!! I could go on and on on how much Penni will be missed and how she will forever and after eternity hold a place in all our hearts along the way!!! Its nice to come back to this place and see what other have to share : )
