Peter James Cowgill RAF VR Service No 169485 Was educated at King Edward 1V School Stourbridge circa1937/8 playing Rugby. It is thought that his family at around that time lived in Tenbury Worcs. He was a great friend of the late John Benjamin Joseph Smith Raf VR serial No 124796 both at school and regularly at "jbs" family home in Hagley Worcs., both while at school and later when his parents Harold Wilson & Hilda Cowgill moved to Parkstone in Dorset .Peter was awarded the DFC and our family knowledge suggests he was colour blind and could only fly at night. He lost his life on 18/19th December 1944 whilst on operations and is buried in the Reichwald Forest War Cemetery
