Peter Morten Hagen was born on March 12, 1867 in Norway to Iver Christiansen Hagen, and had a brother Alfred E. Hagen. He married Emma Mae (Christophersdatter) Hagen in 1895, and had a child Albert E. Hagen. Peter Hagen died at age 61 years old on November 22, 1928 in Great Falls, Montana United States, and was buried at Highland Cemetery in Great Falls, Cascade County.

  • Introduction

    Peter immigrated in 1870 at the age of 3. Peter married Emma Mae Christophersdatter Bremer in 1895. Great Falls Tribune (MT), 25 Nov 1928 Peter M. Hagen's Funeral Held Here Saturday Morning Funeral services for Peter M. Hagen, pioneer resident of Montana, who died in this city Thursday morning, were held Saturday morning at the O'Connor chapel with the Rev. A. Lunde, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran church, officiating. Mr. Hagen was born in Norway, March 21, 1867, and came to this country when a child of 3 years. His family located in Iowa, where he grew to manhood. Thirty-three years ago Mr. Hagen came to Montana and was employed as a brakeman on the Great Northern. He was injured in a wreck near Helena which prevented him from following railroad work longer. He then located on a ranch west of Great Falls, which he operated for several years. Seven years ago he bought the right of news services on the Neihart line and worked at that until last June, when he was hurt in another accident. Since that time he had been unable to work. He is survived by a brother, Alfred Hagen, of Forest City, Iowa, who arrived here last Wednesday. Interment was made in Highland cemetery.
