He married Mercia Squires in 1943 and they later divorced in 1948. They had a child David Charles Shaw. He also married Angela Lansbury on August 12, 1949, and they were married until Peter's death on January 29, 2003. They had children Anthony Pullen Shaw and Deidre Angela (Shaw) Battarra.

Introduction

Peter P Shaw was born Peter Pullen and changed his surname to Shaw when he began his career in front of the screen following the Second World War. He later found success as a studio executive. Peter was signed to a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer by the Charles Feldman Agency in the late 1940s. Shaw apprenticed with agent Paul Small, leading to an executive position at the studio and later a career with the William Morris Agency, where he represented Katharine Hepburn and Robert Mitchum, among others. He returned to MGM as assistant head of production in 1964 and then rejoined the William Morris Agency as an international business manager. Shaw launched Corymore Productions in 1987. He later produced Murder, She Wrote with his two sons at Universal Studios, in addition to other made-for-television features. After an early marriage, which produced a son, David, Peter married actress Angela Lansbury in 1949. They had two children, Anthony Peter - sometimes recorded as Peter "Pullen" - Shaw (born 7 January 1952) and Deirdre Angela Shaw (born 26 April 1953). Peter was a Major in the British Army and a veteran of World War II.

OBITUARIES Peter Shaw, Angela Lansbury's Producer-Agent Husband, Dead at 84 BY KENNETH JONES FEB 06, 2003 Peter Shaw, the TV producer and former agent who was actress Angela Lansbury's longtime husband, died Jan. 29 of congestive heart failure, according to newspaper and wire reports. Mr. Shaw was 84 and died at the couple's Brentwood, CA, home. Lansbury withdrew from the planned production of a musical version of The Visit to tend to her ill husband in recent years. Mr. Shaw was born in Reading, England, and served in the army during World War II. He met Lansbury when they were both working for M-G-M. They were married in London in 1949 and enjoyed one of the seemingly rare long-running show-business marriages. Over the years, Mr. Shaw was an agent for William Morris, representing such stars as Robert Mitchum and Katharine Hepburn. He returned to M-G-M in the 1960s to be assistant head of production, and would return to William Morris. He and his sons created Corymore Productions at Universal Studios in 1987 and co-produced the hit TV series, "Murder, She Wrote," starring Lansbury.

You've likely heard that yesterday we lost another great actor. Considered by many as the last film star of the 'Golden Age of Hollywood', Angela Lansbury (1925 - 2022) died in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles, California.

The daughter of an Irish actress and a successful English timber merchant who had ancestral ties to politics, Angela made her own way in show business for nearly 75 years. On Broadway, film, and television, she created an indelible impression on audiences with her over 100 roles. As a person, dozens of co-workers praised her kindness and grace. Harvey Fierstein tweeted: "Angela Lansbury - She, my darlings, was EVERYTHING!"

She was truly one of a kind and will be missed. Fortunately, we have her work on film to comfort us, and her biography to remember her by.
