Peter Paul Plofchan was born to ALexander Elias Plavscan (1864-1943) and Catharina Urda (1867-1924), and had siblings Helena (1892-1893), John H. (1895-1986), Alexander Jr. (1899-1963), Ann (1901-1922), Mary (1903-1992), Helen (1905-1992), and George Alan Plafchan Sr. (1910-1974). He married Elizabeth Nogafsky (1914-2007) on February 10th 1934 in Detroit Wayne County Michigan, and they had had two daughters and two sons, including Marlene Ann (1935-1936), Thomas Kenneth Sr. (1937-2001), and Phillip Michael Plofchan (1945-1946).
