On July 2, 1943 Peter married Myrtle Lee Carver in Hillsborough, Florida, USA. They were married for 5 years and then divorced on December 13, 1948 in Lee, Florida, USA. He remarried on August 24, 1961 to Inez "Iney" Audery Robinson (1920–1992) in Bartow, Polk County, Florida. They were married until his passing in 1976.
