He had siblings Anna, Sophie, Robert, Alexandria, and Steven Yarema. In the 1940's he moved to Baltimore, Maryland and enlisted on March 15, 1946 in Fort George G Meade Maryland. He was a Technical Sergeant and served in the US Air Force from March 15, 1958 until October 31, 1961. Peter was married to Ellen May Moore (1919-2011) and they had children Peter "Skip" Yarema III and Joellen Ellen Yarema (1951-2020).

    Peter Yarema Jr., 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Thomaston, Conn. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired government operations officer and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; one son, Peter "Skip" Yarema III of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jo-Ellen Yarema-Varner of Atherton, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. The family suggests donations to Christ Episcopal Church Building Fund, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89104. Las Vegas Sun Thursday, May 26, 2005
