"My messuage (dwelling house, outhouses, curtilage and land adjacent land), orchard and garden in which I live and which I purchased of Thomas Marche Esq. to John and Thomas my eldest sons and their heirs for ever after the death of my wife Jane, to be equally divided among them.
To Jane my messuage in Sutton. After her death to Robert and Edward, my younger sons and to their heirs, to be divided.
To Ellen, my daughter my copyhold (a tenure less than freehold of land in England evidenced by a copy of the Court roll, or land held in this way)."
