His older brother was named Leonard and 4 years his senior, and his little brother was Marvin, who was 5 years younger. Phillip served in the United States Army from May 31, 1944 to April 24, 1946. Philip Stillerman passed away on October 28, 1991.

He registered for the WWII draft on March 11, 1944 at the age of 18 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York. At the time he was 5'9", 205 lbs, with ruddy complexion, brown hair, and blue eyes. He listed his next of kin as Sylvia Stillerman. Only a few months later, Phillip enlisted into the Army on May 31, 1944 in Cp Upton Yaphank New York (Military serial#: 42134571). His terms of enlistment were, "Enlistment For The Duration Of The War Or Other Emergency, Plus Six Months, Subject To The Discretion Of The President Or Otherwise According To Law". He served in the United States Army from May 31, 1944 to April 24, 1946.
