  • Introduction

    Phillip John Corsentino was born on Feb 21, 1910 in Labuco, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA to parents Charles and Vittoria Corsentino (1882-1935). He had older brothers Joe and Vick as well as younger siblings Johnnie, Mike, Josephine, and Tony Corsentino. They lived in Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama. Phillip enlisted in the military on February 24, 1943, in Ft Mcclellan Alabama during World War II and he served in the US Army for about two years, being discharged on October 1, 1945. Phillip was married to Mary Corsentino and they had a daughter, Victoria F Corsentino. He worked for US Steel for 50 years and after he retired, he was able to enjoy his many hobbies, which included watch repair, gardening, and both fresh and salt-water fishing. He was known for always helping others, his dry wit, and sported a mustache. Phillip Corsentino passed away on May 13, 2003 and is laid to rest at the Oakland Cemetery in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, United States of America.

Phillip served in the US Army for about two years, being discharged on October 1, 1945.

    At age 30, he was employed by "T C I Rail Fastening" in Fairfield, Jefferson, Alabama, USA. He also was a mechanic and worked for US Steel for 50 years before retiring.
