There is a Shaffer on here who is a descendant of a Michael Christopher from Ireland around that time but settled in Pa. My great grandparents, James and Bethia (Ellis) Christopher came from Cornwall in 1866 to Johnstown Pa. So I guess we are different branches. My ancestor was a miner. Was yours a farmer? Did he own slaves? Many Christophers are Methodists. I am in Charleston WV and an easier way to contact me is [contact link]. I'm also on Facebook (Bettijane Christopher Burger).
