Philomena J. Marangi Swanlund, 77, of Vaux Hall died on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Glenside Nursing Home, New Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Friday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. Entombment is at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visitation will be held at Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Born in East Orange, Mrs. Swanlund was a lifelong resident of Vaux Hall. She was a waitress for B. Altmans, Short Hills, from 1967 to 1994 before retiring. Mrs. Swanlund was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Maplewood. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene L. Swanlund; devoted mother of Jeanne Inderwies, Gerald A. Swanlund, Nancy K. Ciaremello, and Steven R. Swanlund, and dear sister of Dominick Marangi and the late James Marangi. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. Donations to American Cancer Society, 767 Northfield Ave., West Orange, N.J. 07052, would be appreciated.
