    Phyllis Frances (Nopranek) Kinowski was born on November 19th, 1924 in Winona, Minnesota to Stanislaus Vincel "Stanley" Nopranek (1875 - 1960) and Francis Joanna Sikorski (1888 - 1976). Her father had been born in Wisconsin and her mother had been born in Minnesota. Phyllis had four siblings: sisters Eleanor, born 1908, Florence, born 1912, Loretta, born 1914, and Imogene "Jean", born 1917. Phyllis Nopranek married Wallace Kinowski and they had one son, Gary, and one daughter, Cheryl. Phyllis died at the age of 64, after retiring to New Port Richey, Florida.     KINOWSKI, PHYLLIS N., 64, of New Port Richey, died Monday (May 29,1989) at HCA New Port Richey Hospital. Born in Winona, Minnesota, she came here six years ago from Milwaukee. She was a retired medical technician for the Milwaukee County Hospital. She was Catholic. Survivors include her husband, Wallace; a son, Gary, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; a daughter, Cheryl Senderhauf, Atlanta; three sisters, Florence Yanke and Jean Tomich, both of Milwaukee, and Loretta Thomas, Wauwatosa; and four grandchildren. Michels-Lundquist Funeral Home, New Port Richey. - Tampa Bay Times (St. Petersburg, Florida) Tuesday, May 30, 1989 on page 109.

Leopold and Loeb thought that they were intellectually superior and that they could commit the perfect crime and not be caught. They were brought in for questioning within 8 days and quickly confessed. Clarence Darrow was hired as their defense lawyer, getting them life imprisonment instead of a death sentence. Loeb was eventually killed in prison - Leopold was released after 33 years, dying of a heart attack at age 66.
