She had siblings James Rodney Walker, Richard Christopher Walker, Franklin Timothy Walker, and James Robert Walker. She was the mother of Sinclair Williams and Marquis Walker. Phyllis Walker died at age 23 years old on October 4, 1995.

In 1972, in the year that Phyllis R Walker was born, on June 17th, 5 men were arrested by police in an attempt to bug the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington D.C.’s Watergate hotel. The burglars were found to be paid by cash from a slush fund used by the Committee for the Re-Election of the President - the official organization of President Nixon's campaign.

In 1980, Phyllis was only 8 years old when on April 24th, a rescue attempt was begun in the Iranian Hostage Crisis. The attempt failed and 8 US servicemen were killed. Eight helicopters had been sent for the mission, but only 5 arrived in operating condition., Since the military had advised that the mission be aborted if there were fewer than 6 helicopters, President Carter stopped it. Upon leaving, a helicopter collided with a transport plane and the men were killed.
