    Pietro Antonio Vettese was born to Luigi Vettese and Felicia Tedesco on March 29, 1912, in Cassino, Frosinone, Italy. Both his parents and his grandparents were of Italian heritage and descent. He immigrated to Michigan State via New York City and resided with his mother's sister, Teresa DiCicco (nee Tedesco), and her husband, from approximately 1935 to 1945, while he worked at the Ford Motor Company's Rouge Plant. He later married Rose Iafrate in Warren, Michigan where they lived and had a family of their own. She later left him for another man. He moved back to Italy until the passing of his mother and then moved back to Michigan, where he ended up dying alone on the streets of Ypsilanti, Michigan at 60 years of age.
