I am really confused with this person's name....Pittorino Gaetano Picone??????? If the author could contact me it would be wonderful. To explain: Angela CALEO dob 22.09.1860 in Valdichiesa, Leni (Aeolian Islands) is my great grandmother. She died in Geelong Victoria Australia on 19.07.1942. She married Gaetano PITTORINO in Leni on 19.12.1885. Gaetano deceased in Italy, most likely Leni, date unknown. To my knowledge Angela CALEO & Gaetano PITTORINO had 2 children - Maria Francesca b. 22.10.1891 & a son Giovanni b. 10.12.1889 Angela PITTORINO nee Calaio emigrated to Australia with her daughter Maria and Maria's finacee, Francesco Picone, who was already living in Australia (he returned to Italy for Maria). Maria and Francesco were married in Sydney in 1911 - It was Maria Pittorino, the daughter, who married a Picone, not Angela Caleo. The story I was told was that the son, Giovanni, disappointed that his mother did not choose to emigrate to the USA with him, was never heard of again. I am currently trying to find more information about him. I have photos of my grandparents, Maria PITTORINO & Francesco PICONE, and also photos of ANGELA Pittorino nee Calaio. To reiterate, I am confused with the title "Pittorino Gaetano Picone"?? That is, unless of course this is another family & not related to my ancestors.
