    The following obituary appeared in The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, Louisiana) on Saturday, October 7, 2000): RALPH BEGNAUD Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 7, 2000, in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Ralph Begnaud, 51, who died at 6:12 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice. The Rev. Monsignor Wayne Richard of Lafayette will be celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Eulogist will be Tina Albarado. Survivors include two daughters, Jada B. Taylor of Hammond and Jonnie B. Sonnier and spouse Kurt of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Christian Scott Taylor, Chandler O'Neal and Frankie Sonnier; and one sister, Beverly Lavergne of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents. A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Ralph was the son of the late Narcisse Begnaud of Scott and the former Marie Champagne of Breaux Bridge. He was a 1967 graduate of Lafayette High School and had attended USL. A veteran of military service, Ralph served in the U.S. Navy. He was a professional comedian and speaker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Begnaud family. Pallbearers will be Kurt Sonnier, Jim Duhon, Cory Perkins, Carl Albarado, Goldy Breaux, Kenny Guilbeau, Rocky Hollier, T.K. Hulin and Jimmy Domingue. Lynn Duhon will be an honorary pallbearer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home Inc. of Lafayette.
