Ralph and I were very best friends from the 7th grade through adulthood.
He was considered part of our family when I was married and had children. One summer after our junior year in high school we were supposed to go from Camarillo where we lived to camp on property my parents had purchased in Arizona's White mountains. Instead, we decided that a cross country trip would be more fun, and we headed to Virginia to visit my sister and brother-in-law who was in the Navy. It was remarkable and memorable adventure from start to finish and went off without any major issues. He was and will always be "my brother" and I still miss him terribly. Heaven is lucky to have him.
