    Ralph's parents were Samual (sic) Marshall (1870 - 1904) and Mary Alice Lord ((1871 - 1967). Ralph Thomas Benjamin was married to Lillian Chisholm Bray (born 1906) and they had a son. Previously, he had married Thelma Elizabeth Marshall on August 16th 1927 in Melbourne Australia, they were married by Percy Filmore Clark. They lived at Burnley Street Richmond for two years. There is a Victoria Australia divorce record where Ralph states that his wife Thelma deserted him for three years prior to his petition for divorce.

The Boston Americans of the American League played the Pittsburgh Pirates of the National League. Boston came back from a three game to one deficit, winning the final four games to capture the title - such a large comeback wouldn't be repeated by a team until 1925.
