He was ready and unafraid and I felt very good to be with him. I weeped my eyes out with him and now feel very happy and joyful that he has gone so quickly! I will miss him, as I only met him four years ago. He and my father Vernon Eugene Martin were first cousins, and they knew each other well. Randel made me a MARTIN, and I appreciate that so much! For those who still weep for him! WEEP! It is a GOOD THING TO WEEP! A hug to ALL! Jeanette B. and John Ladenburger Corbin, KY Odell and Jeanette grew up together and were friends. We both belonged to First Christian Church here in Corbin. Later on he and his wife became Missionaries and were sponsered by our church. Last time we both heard of him, he called. Odell was a good boy, a fine young man and just a good man.Jeanette Laura M. Moy Valley Springs, Ca Randy, you will always be a part of me; I will love and respect you for eternity. You were and are such a blessing to the universe and were filled with such light. Such a great man and wonderful father to Kathy, Clay and Kevin. We had many adventures together, you coming with me to prep and tune a piano for a concert because you decided you were going to learn to tune. On the trip home the defroster went out and we couldn't see anything. You kept me calm by wiping the windshield and singing duets and hymns with me. Sharing the driving to Kentucky with you,and you beeping Christmas carols on the horn to stay alert; you wearing a kilt to church and showing off your gams!! You had such a wonderful sense of humour!! I have so many fond memories of you. Such good times. Who will I talk with on the phone every weekend? I will miss you my friend. I'll make sure to keep in contact with Clay and Kevin,Charles, Mary Frances,Ethel etc. You are my adopted family after all. See you all in May. Ian Oliver Martin Uncasville, CT I was so happy to spend intimite time with cousin Randel Odell Martin during his last five years before he passed, and was with him at his Burnham Court Richmond, KY apartment a few days before he the end. Randel introduced me to so much of my MARTIN family, that I was overwhelmed. My father Vernon Eugene Martin and Randel were first cousins and always kept in touch! I was the photographer for his log cabin image seen here! He took me to have lunch and told me about Kentucky history! I miss Randel greatly! Randel spoke French fluently and Spanish well. -------------------------------------------------------------- Randel Dell Martin in the U.S., Cemetery and Funeral Home Collection, 1847-2017 U.S., Cemetery and Funeral Home Collection, 1847-2017 No Image Text-only collection Name: Randel Dell Martin Gender: Male Death Age: 85 Birth Date: 7 Aug 1927 Birth Place: Corbin, Knox, Kentucky, USA Residence Place: Richmond, Kentucky, USA Death Date: 3 Dec 2012 Death Place: Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky, USA Source Location: Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, USA Spouse: Carol Children: Kathryn Claire Thompson Parents: Chester Arthur Martin and Brothers and Sisters: Charles Lee Martin and wife Carol, of Madison, AL; Everett Martin; Monta Jean Halcomb ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Randel O Martin in the U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014 U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014 No Image Text-only collection Request copy of original application Name: Randel O Martin BORN: 7 Aug 1927 Died: 3 Dec 2012 State (Year) SSN issued: Kentucky (Before 1951) ---------------------------------------------------------- Rondel O Martin in the 1930 United States Federal Census VIEW 1930 United States Federal Census View blank form Name: Rondel O Martin Birth Year: abt 1928 Gender: Male Race: White Birthplace: Kentucky Marital Status: Single Relation to Head of House: Grandson Home in 1930: District 6, Knox, Kentucky Map of Home: View Map Street address: Martin Road Dwelling Number: 8 Family Number: 8 Attended School: No Father's Birthplace: Kentucky Mother's Birthplace: Kentucky Household Members: Name Age Lucy F Martin 58 Chester A Martin 26 Millie M Martin 22 Eldred E Martin 4 Rondel O Martin 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Odell Martin in the 1940 United States Federal Census VIEW 1940 United States Federal Census View blank form Name: Odell Martin Age: 12 Estimated birth year: abt 1928 Gender: Male Race: White Birthplace: Kentucky Marital Status: Single Relation to Head of House: Son Home in 1940: Knox, Kentucky Map of Home in 1940: View Map Inferred Residence in 1935: Sh, Knox, Kentucky Residence in 1935: Same House Sheet Number: 7A Attended School or College: Yes Highest Grade Completed: Elementary school, 8th grade Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age C A Martin 35 Mellia Martin 32 Everette Martin 15 Odell Martin 12 Monta Martin 9 Charles L Martin 6 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Randall Martin in the U.S. City Directories, 1822-1995 VIEW U.S. City Directories, 1822-1995 Name: Randall Martin Gender: Male Residence Year: 1954 Street address: 72 Sherman Residence Place: Hartford, Connecticut, USA Occupation: Student Spouse: Newell Martin Publication Title: Hartford, Connecticut, City Directory, 1954 GRADUATION: Mr. Randel Odell Martin '54 and.
