He had siblings Ellen Maria Kirstenn Rasmussen, Charles Ole Rasmussen, and Ellen Marie Kers Rasmussen. He was in a relationship with Charlotte Louisa (Cook) Rasmussen, and had children Charlotte Christina Rasmussen and Erik Charles Rasmussen. Rasmus Rasmussen died at age 85 years old in 1952 in Castlemaine.
