His name, personality life
Raymond (Ray) was my biological father, and as oldest child, remember him vividly. Dad was a good man who worked for Detroit Edison (DTE) as electrician for 40 years, retired 60 years old. At 5'9,' he had spunk, built like a barrel, non drinker, had loud voice at times but easygoing. Great sense of humor, loved talking, very mechanically inclined, enjoyed building outdoor structures. Built we 4 kids a playhouse with windows, flowerbox, with furniture, enclosed gazebo, garage. He and cousins built the home we were raised about mid 1950. My dad enjoyed visiting neighbors daily, walking with his coffee, smokes. He also enjoyed his pipe, and could spend hours in the garage. Dad was a good provider who loved his family, even though he and 1 brother got along like oil and water! He could be a prankster, storyteller, had soft heart for animals. He'd help anyone with anything he could.
Dad and his brother, Robert, were adopted by Clyde and Mary Humes as toddlers. Unsure of date, lineage as of now. He married mom (Marguerite) September 25, 1956.
They divorced early 1980s. Dad was devastated, but they had reasons. He remarried twice after that. I visited him daily, spent lot of time with him, especially holidays, until his death in 1994.
