Raymond E Kelso was born to Dorus Robert Kelson (1871 - 1949) and Amy Stebbens (born 1887). His father was born in Illinois and his mother was born in Montana. He had one brother, Earl Kelso (born 1915) and two half-brothers, Frank T. (born 1906) and Charles Milton Walker (born 1908). A veteran of World War II, Raymond enlisted in the Navy on December 30, 1942 and was discharged on November 17, 1945. Raymond married Annabelle Wold on May 23, 1942 in Reno, Nevada, and they had child Judith A. Kelso.
