Raymond Wolk 1927 - 2009
Ray Wolk of Oxnard, Ventura County, California USA was born on August 8, 1927. He was in a relationship with Joy Elaine (Lossieff) Wolk, and had a child Sandy (Wolk) Chagi. Ray Wolk died at age 82 years old on August 8, 2009 at Oxnard Shores Nursing Home in Oxnard.

Ray was born in Chicago IL. He, his mother Rebecca, father Jacob, brother David, and sister-in-law Bernice moved to Hollywood CA. when Ray was 13. At one point, the family lived in the Hollywood Tower Apartments, and Ray shared the elevator with actress Virginia Mayo. Ray continued to live in the general LA area until 1964 when he moved his family, Joy, Sandy, and Gary to Newbury Park CA.

Ray was not particularly religious but he and the entire family were of Jewish Heritage.

Ray was drafted into the army infantry. He reported to the Hollywood CA draft office. He served at an Army Base in Adak Alaska just after WW11 ended.

Ray's first job was in the Zawolkow Family Carpet Business. He was an usher at the Hollywood Bowl He spent his career in the electronics industry. Ray was at RCA for about 1 year. He was laid off. His next job was at Packard Bell. He started as an expeditor. He had the opportunity to move to Newbury Park CA and purchase his first home. He commuted to Packard Bell in Los Angeles for about a year until the New Packard Bell location opened in Newbury Park in 1965. Ray eventually became manager of the purchasing Department. Packard Bell was eventually bought out by Teledyne Electronics. Ray stayed with Teledyne until his retirement in the 1980s
