Reuel Walter Grierson Jr was born on January 19, 1934 to Reuel Walter Grierson Sr and Mildred Florence Croft, and had siblings James Donald Grierson and Bebe Chloe Grierson. He married Joyce Grierson on September 11, 1959, and had children Reuel Gary Grierson, David Alan Grierson, and James Paul Grierson. Reuel Grierson died at age 77 years old on March 2, 2011, and was buried at Barrancas National Cemetery Section 54 Site 612 Naval Air Station, 1 Cemetery Road, in Pensacola, Fl.
