Zion Reformed Church (after it was rebuilt)
John Christian was a native of Rhineland, Germany. He and his wife, Anne Catherine, came from Wittenberg. They landed landed in America on Sept. 27, 1787. They first settled in Rockingham County, Virginia. They later moved to Perry Co., Thorn Township, Ohio, in 1802 or 1803. Rev. John (1754-1853) was the first protestant minister or licensed elder to selttle in Perry Co. He halped organize the Presbyterian & Lutheran Church of Zion.
