    Reva Richeson, age 82, passed away April 17, 2000. Born January 26, 1918 in Ogden, Utah to Willard G. and Virginia Older Brown. Married Melvin T. Richeson April 17, 1939. He preceded her in death.Retired from United Airlines. Reva served as Secretary-Treasurer in the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post #7442. Survived by her children, Brent (Mary) Richeson; Colleen Richeson; Michael Richeson; three grandsons, Darrin (Claire), Mark, Travis (Mellissa); one great-grandson, Ian; one great-granddaughter, Emma. Graveside services will be Thursday, April 20, 2000 at 1 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South. Family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the "Make A Wish Foundation". Funeral Directors, I.P.S. Crematory.

In 1918, in the year that Reva C Richeson was born, on November 1, an elevated train on the Brooklyn line of the subway - driven by an inexperienced operator because of a strike - tried to navigate a turn at 30mph. The limit on the curve was 6 mph. The 2nd and 3rd cars of the 5 car wooden train were badly damaged and at least 93 people were killed, making it the deadliest crash in New York subway history.

"Lucky Lindy" took off from Long Island in New York and flew to Paris, covering  3,600 statute miles and flying for 33 1⁄2-hours. His plane "The Spirit of St. Louis" was a fabric-covered, single-seat, single-engine "Ryan NYP" high-wing monoplane designed by both Lindbergh and the manufacturer's chief engineer.
