Rhett married on Dec 31, 1973- May 1988 to Sheila Dennis, from July 1988 to June 1998 to Cheryl Munroe Phillips, and from October 21, 2003 to present, to Kathy Sullivan Millsaps. Rhett and Sheila had a son, Rhett II, on Jan 3rd, 1979, and Kathy had a daughter, Kamie, on Sept 6, 1986. Rhett II became an accomplished attorney and works and lives in New York, Kamie became an Elementary School teacher in Gainesville, Fla where she resides. Kamie has 2 children, Tenley and Tristian.
As a boy, Rhett grew up his first years in Cedartown, Ga, living in Fishcreek Community some of that time, around the time he was 8, the family moved to Atlanta, where he started his long sales career by selling the Atlanta Journal door to door at the age of 8, soon the family would go thru many changes and in the end, moving the Lawrenceville, Georgia where Rhett would graduate in 1971, president of his senior class. from there, many adventures until being in the last draft in 1972- 1974, serving as a company clerk for Patton's third army, and spending most of his time at Fort Sam Houston. After serving there, he returned to Georgia to work for the state for a brief 5 years before starting his first business. Rhett O. Millsaps, Assoc. was created to be a Kirby vac. sub=distributer . after setting many individual sales records which are still held today, he went to work for Anixter Bro cable tv products, working for them in the state of Florida, first on the inside sales end, but shortly becoming the outside sales rep traveling the entire state, selling equipment and cable to the newly created industry.

In 1952, in the year that Rhett O. Millsaps was born, on July 2, Dr. Jonas E. Salk tested the first dead-virus polio vaccine on 43 children. The worst epidemic of polio had broken out that year - in the U.S. there were 58,000 cases reported. Of these, 3,145 people had died and 21,269 were left with mild to disabling paralysis.
In 1964, on June 11th, activist Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment in South Africa for conspiring to overthrow the state (because of his numerous anti-apartheid activities). He served 27 years in prison.

First sent to the states in 1972, the Amendment stated that "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex".
In 1997, on July 1st, Hong Kong was returned to China. In 1898, Great Britain was awarded Hong Kong for 99 years. In a subsequent agreement, China agreed to allow Hong Kong to remain capitalist. So the handing over of the area ended British rule but did not change the economic system of Hong Kong.
