Mr. Richard Branson Charles passed away Tuesday evening, December 22, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Richard was born in Forsyth County on January 2, 1942, to the late Clarence and Virginia Charles. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and going to the beach. Richard took this passion to another level by becoming an Eagle Scout. One of his other talents was restoring old Thunderbird cars. Richard was a past Master Mason in the Piedmont Lodge, and he retired from the Forsyth County Sheriffs Department. Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren and his poodle, "Zack".
