*** IN LOVING MEMORY OF *** Richard E. Broderson was born on Monday; August 24, 1931 in Galesburg; Knox County, Illinois. He was the son of John and Essie May (Leeds) Broderson. Richard served in the United States Air Force as an Airman A/1st Class during the Korean Conflict. On August 24, 1956, he married Shirley Ann Appleby. She preceded him in death in 1996. Mr. Broderson worked as boiler plant operator for the Rock Island Arsenal prior to his retirement in 1986. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, Fighting Illini, and Nascar fan. He enjoyed dancing, spending time with his family, and was a former member of the American Legion Post #26. Richard E. Broderson, age 79, passed away on Friday; August 27, 2010, at Fort Armstrong Senior Residence in Rock Island; Rock Island County, Illinois. Those left to mourn his passing are: His four Daughters: Linda (Robert) Badtram of Davenport, Iowa; Deborah (George) Thompson of Mesa, Arizona; Pamela (Bill McCollough) Broderson of Fairfax, Virginia and Penny (John) Tyler of Davenport, Iowa. His son: Robert (Carol) Broderson of Mountain Home, Arizona and his brother: Donald (Pat) Broderson of Davenport, Iowa; His six grandchildren and his nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from: 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday; August 29, 2010 at the Cunnick~Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Monday; August 30, 2010 also at the Cunnick~Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport, Iowa. Interment will be at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. For condolences, please visit the mortuary's website at:
