Richard (Ric) Silva Jr., 46, of Stonington, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 6, 2007. Ric was born in Rutland, Vt. on July 20, 1961. He was the son of the late Richard Silva Sr. and Iris (Gilrain) Silva of Mystic. Ric grew up in Mystic and was a graduate of Fitch High School in 1979. Together with his wife Theresa, they owned and operated Theresa's Culinary Creations in Stonington borough. He loved skiing, golfing and making people laugh. Ric will be fondly remembered for his zest of life, his sense of humor and his deep loyalty to all that knew him. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his sister Dina Silva of Old Saybrook. The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a noon service at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Colchester Road, P.O. Box 41, Quaker Hill, CT. 06375.
