    Of Minneapolis, MN passed away on September 2, 2017. He was born on August 25, 1952 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Richard and Audrey (nee Korman) Stafford of New Richland, MN. From # 47001358 Stafford, Richard "Rick" Wesley, Jr. of Minneapolis, MN passed away on September 2, 2017. He was born on August 25, 1952 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Richard and Audrey (nee Korman) Stafford of New Richland, MN. He was predeceased by his father. Rick grew up in New Richland and attended Mankato State University. For decades, Rick has been a fixture of DFL politics from the city to the national levels. He was the first openly gay chair of the Minnesota DFL, delegate, superdelegate, Democratic National Committeeman, and board member of National Stonewall Democrats. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Richland, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Internment of ashes to follow the service at St. Peter's Cemetery. Celebration of Rick's life will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, September 9th at Sabathani Community Center, Minneapolis, with a reception to follow. Memorials to the Rick Stafford Fund at the Minnesota DFL and the Rick Stafford Fund at the Minnesota AIDS Project. SOURCE-StarTribune
