Rita is very religious. Also very spiritual, totally believing and trusting in God. She never wavered in her faith. Upon leaving Richmond, VA she relocated to Albany, New York and united with the Morning Star Baptist Church. Leaving Albany she relocated to Buffalo, New York and joined St. Elizebeth Holliness Church under the Pastoral ship of Mother Tokyo. It would be here that she met Mr. Isaac Palmer.

My mother, Rita, was known as the neighborhood mother. Known for caring for the children of the neighborhood. Those children would eventually get married have children of their own who she would watch and care for. Now at her Home Going it would be these children, now adults, with their children that show up and basically carried out the Home Going service.
