My mother was the kindest, most gentle woman. Very thoughtful and sweet. Always there for everyone and willing to help anyone and in any way she could. In the end she was very mistreated by the people she had worked for and put her heart and soul into working for, for 25 years of her life. The Hardin County Tax Office in Kountze, Tx. They just tossed her out and threw her aside like old garbage, and it broke her heart. And that was a very bad thing to do to such a wonderful woman, especially knowing what she had gone through with me, and how I had hurt her and disappointed her and broken her heart myself so many times, and, bless her heart, her job was about the only place she could go and a place where she thought she had friends, but they took away her retirement she was looking forward to in a couple of years, and didn't even so much as throw her any kind of party or tell her we will miss you or even Robbie, you always did a very good job. Nope, it was all about getting someone younger in her position that would accept less pay. All about money. And everyone please excuse me, but I have carried this burden and this resentment for way too many years. I won't name names, but y'all who played a part in this know who you are...and you ought to be ashamed...just as ashamed as I am for the pain I caused her.
