He had siblings John "Jack" Quarrell, Mary Quarrell Ludbrook, Margaret Emily Quarrell, Robert Quarrell, Albert William Quarrell, Lillian Ada Quarrell, Laura Eva Quarrell, Drusilla Quarrell, Thomas Quarrell, William Quarrell, and Elizabeth Quarrell Judge. He married Ellen Campbell Quarrell in 1915, and had children Ernt John Quarrell and James Robert Quarrell. Robert Quarrell died at age 58 years old on July 5, 1940 in Werneth, VIC.
