Robert Charles McWade was born on November 28, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Robert Andrew McWade (1886-1961) and Eunice "Anne" Oman Manson Enos (1892-1967). He had siblings Helen Jane (1914-2016) and Donald Henry (1921-1995). During World War Il, he served for four years in the U.S. Army Air Corp, South Pacific. He graduated from Bradley University School of Horology, where he studied watch and jewelry repair. Bob married Ruth Margaret Owen (1925-2012) on October 7, 1948 in Springfield, Greene, Missouri. They owned and operated McWade Jewelry in downtown Aurora for 40 years.

During World War Il, he served for four years in the U.S. Army Air Corp, South Pacific. He was discharged on October 29, 1945.
Professional Career

Robert worked as a retail manager and in 1950, was the bookkeeper for the Feed Mill in Aurora, Lawrence, Missouri, USA. Later in life, together with his wife Ruth, she and Robert McWade owned and operated the McWade Jewelry Store in downtown Aurora for 40 years.

Robert Charles McWade, of Aurora, passed away February 27, 2006, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born November 28, 1916, in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert and Anne (Enos) McWade. During World War Il, he served for four years in the U.S. Army Air Corp, South Pacific. He graduated from Bradley University School of Horology, where he studied watch and jewelry repair. Bob was united in marriage to Ruth M. Owen, from Aurora, on October 7, 1948. They owned and operated McWade Jewelry in downtown Aurora for 40 years. Survivors include his beloved wife, Ruth; children, David and wife, Carol, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Donald and wife, Phyllis, of Aurora; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister, Helen and husband, Sam, of Frostproof, Florida; sister-in-law, Lori McWade, of Portland, Oregon; and many other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dr. Donald McWade, DVM. Graveside services under the direction of the Crafton Cantrell Funeral Home will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, in the Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the South- east Bible Chapel, 1051 S. Crutcher St, Springfield, MO 65804 and/or to the Aurora Nursing Center-Activity Dept., 1700 Hudson, MO 65605.
