  • Ethnicity & Family History

Bob claimed to be part Oglala Sioux, and had great respect for the Native American's lifestyle and culture. I have no specifics on Bob's true family linage, but he expressed these thoughts on many occasions. I have no reason to disbelieve them. I knew Bob from 1973 until his death in 2009. He was a brilliant, well spoken man with a deep voice, an infectious laugh and quick wit.
  • Early Life & Education

Bob had a degree in psychology, although I do not recall from what institution in Nebraska.
  • Religious Beliefs

Bob was an atheist as long as I knew him. He had no deep religious convictions.
  • Military Service

Yes, Bob was an Army Veteran/Green Beret.
  • Professional Career

Bob was in the Army, and a Green Beret. He saw action in Korea, and I believe in South East Asia. Bob was also involved in Communications and after he left the Military worked for Bell Telephone. He retired from Bell and became involved in Security work with Palm Bay.
  • Personal Life & Family

Bob dated women but ultimately married Linda Stout and they resided in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area. Bob was a dog lover and had two very large dogs that he adored. Bob loved to entertain and cook out on the grill. He loved the Melbourne area and at one time lived just across the street from the beach in the Melbourne/Indialantic area. He liked to fish from shore.

Like a second father
I knew Bob before I graduated High School when he and my (Divorced) mother dated for several years. My biological father resided out of the country, and I looked at Bob as a father figure. He was very smart, and had a great outlook on life. No thing ever really wore Bob down, he could take on adversity and move through it, usually saying something like "Are we having fun yet?". It was through his encouragement that I joined the military, and ultimately became an Honor Graduate from Basic Training/ Top Gun for my Flight and member of the USAF Rifle and Pistol Team. Bob attended my first wedding, and sat in the seat reserved for the Father of the Groom. Bob was my anchor and who I looked to for advice and direction. He helped me achieve all that I have become. I miss his big voice, bear hugs and sense of humor so very much.
