He was the parent of Larry Wayne Acord. He would also marry Geneva Hoover Acord, and they were married until Robert's death on August 30, 1963. They had children Jerome Edward Acord, Robert Denzil Acord, Jr., Larry Wayne Acord, Gwendolyn Acord, Della Mae Acord, and Ellen Ann Acord.
