Robert Downey Sr was born on June 24, 1936 in New York, New York United States. He married Elsie Ford on June 18, 1962 and they later divorced on February 18, 1982. They had children Allyson Downey and Robert Downey Jr. He also married Laura Ernst on March 15, 1991, and they were married until Laura's death on January 27, 1994.
