The Age, Melbourne. 23rd November 1951. Haul is Ended But Memory Linger On. - MR. ROBERT PARRY. MORNINGTON Thursday. - Known to hundreds of Bay fishermen, Mr. Robert Parry, of Beach Grove, Mornington, died today. After completing his school days in Mornington, he and Mr. George Hooper entered partnership as fishermen and continued partners for 57 years. Mr. Parry was a son of an English seafaring man, Mr. Robert Parry, sen., who conducted a steamer service between Mornington and Williamstown for many years. Mr. Parry Sen., transported produce and provisions for Mornington shop keepers. Also at this time large quantities of wattlebark were dispatched by sea to Melbourne tanneries.
