    Robert E. “Bob” Donaldson, 84, of Parsons, died at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, September 27, 2009, at his home in Parsons. He had been in failing health. He was born October 25, 1924, in Silverdale, Kansas, to Harry and Alma (Bowman) Donaldson. As a young boy, he grew up in Branson, Missouri, where he attended schools and graduated from high school. He then attended New York University for four years where he earned a Bachelor’s degree. He and Lena Fuellner were married July 4, 1953, in New York, and lived there until moving to Cherryvale, Kansas, in 1975. He worked at Cobalt Boats in Neodesha for 10 years, and was instrumental in starting the metal fabrication shop while working there. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Parsons, where he also served as an elder. He loved fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include: Wife – Lena Donaldson of the home, Parsons, KS Three Sons – James Carritue Montclair, CA Ron Carritue Long Island, NY Bob Donaldson Parsons, KS Numerous Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren One Brother – Merle Donaldson St. Petersburg, FL He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Following the visitation, Mr. Donaldson will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Parsons. Memorials are suggested to the Robert Donaldson Memorial Fund. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
