    Bob was born in Mahattan, NY to Joseph gamble and Alice Scanlon Gamble, called Bob. He was a veteran of Vietnam war on the USS ROBERT M. Wood, a destroyer. He was a Radioman 3rd class, nearly a 2nd class but didn't ship over. He was in about 4. Yrs. He married Charlynn S. Watt in Jan. 14, 1964 in Camden, NJ. They had 4 daughters--3 surviving . He had bros. Donald, Thomas, and James. Sister Patty. He & Lynn divorced in 1977. He was a truck driver. for sev. Yrs. Over the road he'd also been a Philly police officer of 17th precinct, but due to his problems associated with an unfortunate upbringing, he left that position.

IT WAS UNFORTUNATE ADDICTION HE FINALLY OVERCAME. THRU AA BEFORE HE PASSED THAT HE COULD BE PROUD AND OF HIS MILITARY SVC. OF 4 YRS.

Orval Faubus had previously prevented the students from entering the school at the beginning of the term with the Arkansas National Guard - they blocked the door. President Eisenhower ordered federal troops - the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army - to guard the students and allow them entry.
