    Robert George Liptak was born to Joseph Stephen Liptak (1884 - 1948) and Anna Dudas (1890 - 1980). His father was born in Slovakia and his mother was also born in Slovakia. He had two brothers and two sisters. A veteran of the United States Army, Robert served during World War II. He enlisted in February of 1941 and he was discharged in November of 1945. Robert Liptak married Ellen Louise Nesbit (1911 - 1979) on January 15, 1946 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and they had one son and one daughter.
