Robert Mamoru Yoshihiro is the son of Kitaro and Haruko Yoshihiro. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and had older siblings George and Elsie and younger siblings Henry and Rodney Yoshihiro. He registered for the draft on his 18th birthday, February 2, 1944, in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. At the time, he was employed by U S E D, and he was 5'7" tall. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 15, 1945, as a Private and was discharged on January 12, 1946. He worked in the construction industry and later retired as a fisherman.
