Robert M. "Bobby" Laws, 77, of Newark, Delaware, died at home on October 12, 2003. He was born in Newark on September 29, 1926, son of the late Norman and Ruth Morrison Laws. He was raised on dairy farms in Glasgow and Bear, DE, and attended Newark High School. As a lifelong baseball enthusiast, pitched for Glasgow in the Newark-Kent-Cecil League during 1949 and 1950. In 1985, he was inducted into the Cecil Hartford Old-timers Baseball Association Hall of Fame. He worked for 35 years in Construction Contracting. He was a member of the Christiana Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Jane Boulden Laws; son, Dennis of Mechanicsburg, daughter, Patti Sandy of Camden, DE; son, Kevin of Elkton, MD; brothers, Norman and Earl of DE; sisters, Annabelle, Janet and Shirley of DE; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The funeral services were held on October 15, 2003 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Earleville, MD. He was laid to rest in St. Dennis Cemetery in Galena, MD.
