Introduction

Robert "Bobby" F Talmadge Keaton was born in Los Angeles to comic actor Joseph Frank "Buster" Keaton (1895-1966), best known as "Buster Keaton" and actress Natalie Talmadge (1898-1969). Robert had an older brother Buster Keaton Jr (1922-2007). His mother's sisters, Norma and Constance Talmadge, were also well known actresses. He married Esoleta Patricia Pat Marie McGough (1916-1991) in 1948 and they had two sons. Unlike his family, the only media appearance Robert made was in 1957 on the 'This is Your Life' television show where he honored his father's life and career. When his parents divorced, he and his brother dropped the surname "Keaton" and he was thereafter known as Bob Talmadge. They didn't have any contact with their father thereafter.
