  • Introduction

    Robert William Soderholm was born to Hjalmer August Soderholm and Minnie Erickson and had a sibling Catherine Soderholm. According to the 1920s Census, both August and Minnie were born in Sweden, and the family lived in Fergus Falls Ward 1 in Otter Tail Minnesota. A World War 2 veteran, Robert enlisted in the United States army on October 7th 1942 and was discharged on February 7th 1946. The 1950s Census reports that when Robert was 33 years old he was married to 32 year old Margaret B. Soderholm, and they had children Judith A. (9 years old), Richard W. (7 years), and John R. who was 4 years old. They were living in Detroit Wayne Michigan at the time. By the 1960s the family moved to California. Judy graduated from Santa Cruz High School, earned her degree in elementary education at San Jose State college, and married Francis M. Murphy on January 24rd 1965 at the Harmon Air Force base chapel in Newfoundland.
