After graduating from High School Robert enlisted in the Navy and continued to attend various classes over the next 23 years of his service to our Country.

Robert had not attended many church services over the early years however he became a member of the Baptist Church in his later years and was baptized and became a regular at church service. His church took him into their hearts and I think he found comfort from the church and his new friends as he drew closer to the end of his life.

Robert spent 23 years in the United States Navy. He was credited with service in WWII, Korea and Vietnam between the years 1947 and 1970. He flew in jets launched from the deck of various carriers. He indicated that during the Cuban Missal Crisis The pilots were required to be at the ready while sitting in a jet equipped with bombs and ready for launch at a moments notice.
