Robert Wilson Pritts was born circa 1873 in Somerset, Somerset County, Pennsylvania United States to Alexander Pritts and Ellen Ziegler, and had siblings Annie Pritts, Austin Pritts, Harvey Pritts, William Pritts, Edward Pritts, and George Pritts. He was in a relationship with Susan L. Brant, and had children Melda Marie Pritts, Ross E. Pritts, Jay Pritts, Leora Pritts, Rose Pritts, and Ada Alma Pritts. Robert Pritts died at age 72 years old on March 30, 1946 in Berlin.

In 1881, by the time he was only 8 years old, on October 26th, the "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" happened in Tombstone, Arizona. The gunfight lasted only 30 seconds - the Earps and Doc Holliday on one side and the "Cowboys" on the other side. The McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton of the Cowboys were killed. Two of the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday were wounded.
